October is National Arts and Humanities Month. At PBL, at least in the music department, students are busily practicing the art of music–whether preparing for competitions, learning songs and dance moves for the upcoming musical, or training daily to improve their voices and singing skills. It is easy to get so caught up in the energy of preparations that we lose sight of why we do any of it.
Music is such a gift. It has the power to create or amplify the feelings of our hearts, can inspire creativity in the mind, and can bring joy to all of us when we share it together. At least once during the month of October, stop and be thankful for the gift of music and for its role in the continuing growth and betterment of the world we live in.
